Vision Quest

WHAT IS IT?

Seeking/Finding
It is one of the oldest pan-global rituals used by indigenous/early human folk, to seek a direction for life. Traditionally with the assistance of a shamanic practitioner, the seeker goes to a secluded location (sacred space) to fast and "let go" with a clear intent, for an agreed amount of time. It is this delicate balance of "letting go" but with a clear and firm intent that works the final magic. A traditional Vision Quest includes three basic stepping stones...

Severance
Separating from the stuff of everyday life. In this work the quester prepares practically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, with a practitioner.

Transition
The quester is alone with Nature for an agreed amount of time. Fasting and being open to inner visions of existence is the essence of the QUEST.

Re-incorporation
The quester returns bearing gifts and messages of subtly knowable things. These gifts will help you find your own sacred DREAM and access the energy to live it. Stories may be re-told around the fire and in so doing the lessons and messages from Spirit become valuable and empowering guidance in symbolic form. As we learn to make manifest into everyday life the dreams we have awoken, we realise that we are a corporate part of the very fabric of the universe and all that she is prepared to give us in return for our humility. So Mote it Be.

Shamanic Journeying
Usually also of an agreed time. Traditionally a question is raised and worked through with the aid of a practitioner. This kind of journey differs from guided visualisation in that the person finds their own landscape and access to either the lower, middle or upper shamanic worlds. A DRUM is usually used, beating to a prescribed rhythm. This beat subtly alters the physical brainwave patterns thus enabling a light trance state to begin the journey. MUCH HEALING AND ANSWERS CAN COME FROM SUCH PRACTICES.
